Description:

Middle Camuesa Camp (KahMooseAhh) is a camp along the western OHV side of the Romero Camuesa Rd.  It is most commonly accessed by starting at Upper Oso Camp and taking the OHV dirt roads out to the camp.  The camp has a few unique features, most notably an old hot tub style water tank with of all things, a goldfish or two living inside.  The spring is very reliable but can dry up during summer months or droughts.  The camp also has a few fire rings, an odd assortment of chairs and a table.  Middle Camuesa is along an OHV route, so expect the ring of motorcycles at any hour of the day.  It's not recommended for people seeking peace and tranquility but is a great destination for OHVers looking to spend a night under the stars.  All this being said, the Camuesa Canyon is quite nice with lots of large oak trees, some grasses potreros and scenic chaparral hillsides.

Camp Description:Middle Camuesa Camp looked good! Tables are intact and I saw the nice new fire ring. The old wooden water tank has fallen apart, but I found the tiny spring box with water in it. Toilet sign looks great with the nice fresh paint and the lowrider was good. The creek near camp was dry. The road up to Buckhorn from Middle Camuesa was in good shape for biking.
Water Source:Trickle
Water Source Details:Water in spring box under oak tree. Creek is dry.

We are hoping to restore the old hot tub style spring tank, it was burned and destroyed in the 2016 Rey Fire.
Water Source:Dry
Water Source Details:No water near camp but there was some stagnant water in the creek about a mile below Middle Camuesa
