Chorro Grande Camp is a small primitive trail camp located on the Chorro Grande Trail (23W05) 4.3 miles from Highway 33. The camp is nestled among large conifer and oak trees. Temperatures are usually cooler here than than the more exposed lower trail and snow is not uncommon in the winter months. There are 2 main sites with fire rings, one of which has an old ice can stove. Chorro Grande Spring can be found trickling into a small catchment pool from between two large boulders just above the camp. Historically, this was considered to be a reliable water source, however recent droughts have taken their toll and it is now often dry as a bone. There are no other nearby water sources.
