Trail description:Bike ride from the 166 to SB Potrero, then Buckhorn Road to Upper Oso.

Section from Madulce down to Alamar has a lot of small/medium sized rocks. Had to walk the bike down nearly the whole section.

The section on the north side of Big Pine had several trees blocking the road. There was water at the Mission Pine Trailhead and the small spring on the left side of the road going from Big Pine to Windy Gap.

Smooth sailing down to Bluff. The spur road going to Bluff proper is washed out with ruts and small rocks (a car could make it through). The road is in good shape coming out of the hole at Bluff. About 0.5 to 1.0 mile past the cell spot, there is a large slide with some big rocks (see picture). The water tanks at The Pines and at Little Pine are both full.

The chalkboard is a bit rough but I think a truck should be able to handle it. If not, it won't take much to clear it.

The rest is in good shape to Upper Oso. The last rocky section before Upper Oso had some small rocks covering the road, nothing major.

Trail description:Road from SB Canyon to around Chokecherry Spring is in good shape.  Couple of small trees down across road and a handful of small rockfalls in the vicinity of the spring.  One moderate rock fall with a couple of larger duffel-sized boulders just before the spring.

Notorious slide section between Madulce TH and Alamar Sadde is a bit rough.  Nothing major, just lots of small boulders/cobbles that need to be cleared for vehicle passage.  No problem on bikes/foot.

Approximately a dozen tree falls on backside of Big Pine Mtn across road; several of which are quite large.  Couple of small patches of snow/ice remaining on road too.

Road from Windy Gap to Bluff is in pretty good shape other than one slide section about 1/3 of the way from the top.  Probably needs some help to be passable for vehicles.

Rest of the way out to Oso was fine and in good to excellent condition.

Trail description:VWR Patrol along the Buckhorn Rd from Upper Oso to Chokecherry Spring.  Unfortunately we came across a few downed trees along the Buckhorn that were impassable.  We'll organize a followup project to remove the downed trees.

Road was passable up to the junction of Big Pine, which is where the downed trees started.  Nice crisp weather, perfect for the backcountry, although it was very windy out there.

Around a dozen downed trees between Windy Gap and Alamar Saddle (like this) on this section of Buckhorn Road. If mountain biking, be prepared to carry your bike over the obstacles.

Trail description:The first 1/4 mile in from Upper Oso had a couple sections of rocks that needed to be removed to drive through and there were plenty of softball size rocks still strewn on these locations.  The Upper Oso switchbacks had some nice ruts forming alongside and in the middle of the jeep-way.  For OHV and mountain biker enthusiasts be careful when negotiating these ruts.  The Little Pine switchbacks also have a couple rock and mud debris slides, and some smaller ruts starting to form. From the top of the Little Pine section of the jeep-way there were numerous erosion ruts forming on the downhill side of the road all the way to Big Pine (Windy Gap).  Approximately 1.3-1.7 miles up from Bluff saddle there were a couple significant jeep-way washouts that took some time to repair to drive through.
