This gate prevents driving across the Agua Caliente Creek at Pendola Station.  When this gate is locked you cannot drive to Middle Santa Ynez Camp or any of the futher down-canyon camps and trailheads.  It is rarely locked unless there has been a lot of rain or certain sensitive species are occupying the crossing.
