Timber Top Camp is located atop the geographic feature called Timber Top - imagine that? It is near the junction of the Boronda Trail and North Coast Ridge Rd.

Camp Description: | Running water may be available about half way down the Boronda Trail on a spur trail to Lafler Creek. |
Water Source: | Stagnant |
Water Source Details: | There are two concrete cattle troughs, both with about 4" of water in them. I scooped water out with a pot. It was brown, perhaps from tannins in the leaves in the water. I boiled some and tasted it. It tasted normal. I later treated another batch of water with Oasis chlorine pills. Four days later I haven't gotten sick. |

Camp Description: | This would be a great place to camp with a large group. The climb in from the highway is pretty steep, gaining roughly 3000ft in elevation across 3 miles. I don't believe there was water at this time, but you can hike ~2.7 miles on the road to the water tank near Cold Springs Camp to fill up. |
Water Source: | Dry |
Water Source Details: | There is a water tank, I did not check to see if there is water but I doubt it |
Weather Conditions: | Very hot and sunny, possibly 90+ degrees |

Camp Description: | After the grueling hike up Boronda trail, you reach this small campsite. There were a few fire rings, a metal charcoal grill, and a picnic table in decent condition. There were a few nearby trees, but definitely not much shade. Views over the ocean are heavily dependent on the marine layer (we just saw clouds both days passing through). I'd imagine the views of the night sky are incredible if you're ready for some early morning sun. Could be a fund spot to spend a single night if you live nearby. I wouldn't expect to find any water at any time of year. |

Water Source Details: | No streams anywhere on trail |
