Camp Description: | Just east of this location a private land owner or squatter has gated off the forest service road three times in approx. 100 yards. There are no trespassing signs everywhere, motion activated game cameras aimed at the road, halloween decorations in the bushes such as skulls and skeletons, a sign that says trespassers will be considered armed and dangerous, and a shooting range with human targets.Â
Forest service administration needs to deal with this situation before someone get hurt. |
Water Source: | Trickle |
Water Source Details: | Nicely flowing spring piped into a wildlife watering station. Water is still accessible to hikers. |

Camp Description: | Soto
Spring currently has water. The spring has a full water trough and is a
protected wild life guzzler. Water flowing from Soto spring feeds into Branch Creek
which had flow downstream for at least 2 miles.
The USFS
web site states that over 100 guzzlers have been installed on the forest to help
enhance the populations of the valley or California quail since they receive
the most hunting pressure of any upland species on the forest. |
